We are a friendly group which meets on Thursday mornings (except the fourth Thursday of the month). Details of each walk are sent out about a week in advance by email. Walks are usually between 5 and 6 miles, and finish with an optional pub lunch. Occasionally a slightly longer walk is planned but this will be made clear in the walk details. All routes will have been checked out by the walk leader. The starting point for walks is usually within a 40 minute drive from Liphook. Car sharing is encouraged.
All members are encouraged to take a turn in acting as a walk leader, but don’t be alarmed! Few of us plot our own routes, more often than not routes are taken from books and magazines and the internet and help is always at hand. We walk in all weathers over local terrain, hills and stiles included, using footpaths and bridleways as far as possible. Walkers need to be equipped with suitable footwear and clothing.
We have organised a couple of 4-day walking breaks in Exmoor, the Cotswolds and the New Forest.
